Kristine Buelow

LCSW (Glen Ellyn)

We become tired of the same old worn paths, conversations, and worries, which can leave us directionless. Seeking help is a courageous step toward taking action to make things easier for yourself and your family to thrive. I provide support and work to empower the best in every client. I work alongside you to identify your needs and goals. You can expect me to listen to you non-judgmentally, while giving you concrete skills and tools to implement a wide variety of techniques and resources that will be beneficial to you. My specialty areas are working with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and trauma. I also have experience with grief and loss, building parenting skills, working with highly sensitive people, and with women’s issues.

My therapy approach is individualized to your strengths and goals. We first begin by understanding your story. Cognitively we explore your feelings, negative beliefs, internal conflicts, obstacles, and protective behaviors. Then we collaboratively work to move you towards understanding yourself through cognitive problem solving and education, observing your nervous system, utilizing mindfulness, and building coping skills. It is important to me as a therapist to support and empower you to overcome obstacles so healing can begin.

I work with adults from college age through older adults.
