I see it as an absolute honor to be a witness to a chapter of a client’s life. I have had the pleasure of interacting with and learning from clients with diverse backgrounds. My lived experience as an immigrant gives me first-hand experience with grief, loss, and being an outsider. I wish to make my services accessible and value being my true self in the counseling office.
My clinical experience is gathered from many different settings: a partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient program, a college counseling center, and a refugee resettlement agency. I have advanced training in trauma and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. While I have experience working with a variety of issues, I take a special interest in working with young adults, neurodivergence, trauma, family-of-origin issues, and multicultural experiences. I adopt a relational approach and focus on increasing my clients’ awareness of themselves. I also like to look beyond personal issues and try to find generational patterns or systematic roots. It is my hope to be a companion, an advocate, and a support during my walk with clients. I offer services in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
