Tom has a variety of field experience, having worked at a school, multiple substance abuse centers, and an outpatient psychiatry clinic. He has experience working with adolescents and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, autism, relationship conflicts, anger issues, low self-esteem, identity development, and life transitions.
He believes that therapy is incredibly useful, and he does not necessarily think that you need to be dealing with a problem in order to benefit from therapy. Tom supports a holistic, collaborative, and integrative approach to care. He prefers to focus on using a strengths-based approach in order to help encourage, empower, and motivate clients. Tom maintains that therapy can be a great place to share thoughts, express ideas, explore emotions, or talk about anything that is on your mind because sometimes we could all use an outside perspective on our situation.
