Life can bring unexpected change, loss, uncertainty, and emotional challenges. You do not have to navigate them alone. I offer a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space to slow down, feel understood, and explore what may be getting in the way of living the life you desire. Together, we can process your experiences, gain insight, develop practical strategies, and cultivate resilience and hope. Meaningful change can happen when we feel safe to be honest, curious to explore, and supported in trying something new.
As a 1.5-generation Korean American, I understand the complexities of navigating identity, culture, relationships, transitions, and loss. My experiences with immigration, divorce, grief, and rediscovering meaning led me from teaching and management to clinical mental health counseling. I am grateful to accompany others on their journeys of healing and growth.
My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, relational and career transitions, and the intersections of race, gender, identity, culture, spirituality, and life stage. Drawing on my training at Wheaton College and Northwestern University, along with my lived experience, I use a person-centered, values- and goals-driven approach that integrates psychodynamic, evidence-based, and mindfulness-informed practices. Depending on your needs, I incorporate IFS, CBT, ACT, DBT, SFBT, trauma-informed approaches, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
It would be my honor to walk alongside you on your journey. I welcome individuals, couples, and families for in-person or online sessions at the Glen Ellyn office.
