I began my career teaching at a small Bible college in central Mozambique. A life-threatening event led to personal experience with PTSD and my return home. I then chose to change careers and became a therapist. My own experience with trauma enables me to empathize with clients and create a space where they feel safe processing painful memories. I also treat clients with anxiety, mood disorders, spiritual concerns, and struggles with family of origin. My experience makes me well-equipped to work with people in service industries who are struggling with burnout, trauma and identity/vocational confusion. My therapeutic style is gentle and person-centered. I am a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and SE is my primary modality. I also have experience with CBT, DBT, Internal Family System and EMDR. It is a joy to journey with people through their struggles and into a life of greater contentment. I see adult clients in the Glen Ellyn office and online.
